Namibian Musician Nally Passes: Josef Simson Dies In Fatal Road Accident Hours After Eerie Fan Prediction

Josef Simson, the Namibian Afrobeat artist known to fans as Nally, has died at 25. He was killed in a head-on car crash early on Sunday 1 November 2026, according to reports on Monday.

Tributes are coming in from across Namibia's music scene.

Police in the Omusati Region say the collision happened at about 4:00 AM on the Okahao–Oshakati road, at a sharp bend known as the Elim Curve. Nally was travelling in one of two vehicles, a bakkie and an SUV, which hit each other at high speed. Both were badly damaged. Seven people died, Nally among them, before emergency crews could get them out.

The video doing the rounds

A clip from Nally's last public show has spread quickly on short-form platforms. A fan filmed it just hours before the crash, and it shows him singing and dancing for the crowd.

A woman's voice can be heard in the background saying, "He's dead already." We don't know who she is, what she meant, or who she was talking to, and we haven't been able to verify the video or when it was filmed.

Reaction under big African music pages has been split. Some commenters read spiritual meaning into the words. Others say a road crash that killed seven people shouldn't be turned into a supernatural story, and that the conversation should be about road safety and the families left behind.

Nally's family and colleagues in the Namibian music industry are reportedly starting to plan his burial. Our thoughts are with them, and with the families of everyone who died.
