Photographer David Martins publicly accused prominent Nigerian gospel singer Neon Adejo of cross-boundary, flirtatious behavior and having an affair with his estranged wife, Alicia Daniella. David leaked WhatsApp screenshots showing intimate chat excerpts, including Neon asking Alicia for a selfie and discussing sending her money.
However, Neon Adejo strongly denied the affair. He explained that he and his wife, Lade, only stepped in to support Alicia financially and emotionally after she confided in them about suffering severe domestic abuse from David. Neon stated he sent Alicia ₦500,000, helped her find temporary housing, and requested the selfie strictly to update a friend who had done Alicia's hair.
The situation has turned into a back-and-forth "battle of receipts" on social media. David shared additional videos and messages attempting to prove Neon's leaked screenshots were doctored.
Meanwhile, Neon has released recantations and apologies regarding how the situation escalated, expressing regret for getting entangled in the couple's personal disputes.
